JOB DESCRIPTION

The Technician will have experience in performing basic cabling activities, mounting, racking, and stacking of devices within a data centre environment. This role also requires the ability to provide remote support and ensure all activities comply with industry standards and best practices.

Key responsibilities

• Cabling and Wiring: Perform basic cabling and wiring tasks, including the installation and management of network cables, fiber optics, and power cords.
• Mounting and Installation: Responsible for the physical installation, mounting, and securing of servers, network devices, and other hardware in racks and cabinets.
• Racking and Stacking: Efficiently rack and stack servers, network equipment, and storage devices in a structured manner to ensure optimal airflow, cooling, and accessibility.
• Device Configuration: Assist with the initial configuration and setup of hardware, ensuring devices are properly connected and operational.
• Remote Support: Provide remote assistance to internal teams or clients for troubleshooting and resolving hardware issues, including guiding them through basic troubleshooting steps.
• Maintenance and Monitoring: Regularly inspect and maintain cabling, racks, and devices to ensure they are in good working order and adhere to safety standards.
• Documentation: Keep detailed records of all installations, configurations, and changes made to the data center environment.
• Compliance: Ensure that all activities within the data center adhere to company policies and industry regulations, including safety and security standards.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES AND COMPETENCIES

Education
Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in relevant field, Computer Application, Computer Science, Information Technology, or any related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.

Experience

• An experience of 4 years and above in the similar role.
• Proven experience in a data centre or similar technical environment.
• Knowledge of basic cabling, including copper and fiber optics.
• Familiarity with server mounting, racking, and stacking techniques.
• Ability to provide remote support and troubleshoot basic hardware issues.

Skills and Certifications

• Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar) are a plus.

COMPENSATION
The gross compensation budgeted for the position is ranging INR 5 to 6 lakhs per annum (LPA). The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with skills, qualifications, certifications, trainings, experience and salary history.
