JOB DESCRIPTION
The position of Presales Engineer specializing in SOC, SIEM, and SOAR technologies plays a crucial in bridging the gap between technical solutions and client needs. He/She will closely work on potential clients to understand security challenges and design tailored solutions that leverage Security Operations Centers (SOC), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), and Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) technologies. The responsibilities include demonstrating product capabilities, creating proof-of-concept implementations, and providing technical expertise to ensure the proposed solutions meet the client’s security and operational requirements.
Key responsibilities
Technical Expertise
- Serve as the technical expert in SOC, SIEM, and SOAR technologies.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements and trends in cyber security and related technologies.
Sales Support
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify and qualify opportunities.
- Conduct detailed needs assessments and technical discovery sessions with prospective clients.
- Develop and deliver compelling presentations, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts (POCs) to showcase the value of our solutions.
Solution Design
- Design and propose customized SOC, SIEM, and SOAR solutions that meet client requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation, including solution architecture diagrams, implementation plans, and integration guides.
RFP/RFI Responses
- Assist in responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Information (RFIs) by providing technical input and ensuring alignment with client needs.
Customer Engagement
- Build strong relationships with potential clients and key stakeholders
- Act as a trusted advisor to customers, addressing technical concerns and providing insights on best practices and industry standards.
Collaboration
- Work closely with product management and engineering teams to provide feedback on product features, enhancements, and customer requirements.

Training and Enablement
- Conduct training sessions and workshops for internal teams and partners on SOC, SIEM, and SOAR technologies.
- Mentor and support junior presales engineers and technical staff.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES AND COMPETENCIES
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
Experience
- 5 years and above of experience in a presales or technical consulting role, preferably in the cyber security domain or in similar role.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with SOC, SIEM, and SOAR technologies (e.g., Splunk, IBM QRadar, ArcSight, Exabeam, Demisto, Phantom).
Skills and Certifications
- Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value propositions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python) and automation tools is a plus.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH) are a plus.
- Customer-focused with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
COMPENSATION
The gross compensation budgeted for the position is ranging INR 10 to 12 lakhs per annum (LPA). The offer made to the selected candidate shall be commensurate with skills, qualifications, certifications, trainings, experience and salary history.
