JOB DESCRIPTION
This is a full-time hybrid role for Lead / Associates Manager – Operations (50% Field Work) based in Kolkata, West Bengal. Looking for a highly committed and passionate individual who believes in bringing change in the informal recycling sector through community relations and capacity building. She/he should be passionate about grass-root field work and share our values which are driven to create social and economic inclusion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Stakeholder management
- Identifying, networking, mobilising and engaging key stakeholders across the informal sector in plastic recycling industry to formal supply chain. Our key stakeholders are Home Based Workers (HBW), Waste Pickers (WP), Itinerant Buyers (IB), Van Units (VU), Dry Waste Collection Centre (DWCC), Waste Pickers Community Leaders, Scrap Shops (SS), Wholesaler etc.
- Enrolling and managing stakeholders.
- Building trust with stakeholders to maintain strong working relationships.
- Increasing plastic sourcing and supply from stakeholders by ensuring ethical sourcing and fair price.
- Facilitating management and client visits with stakeholders.
B. Capacity building
- Conducting one-to-one capacity building to strengthen stakeholders working capacity w.r.t Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Conducting one-to-one CRM (mobile technology) training for stakeholders.
- Creating awareness and sensitising stakeholders on various social/govt. Schemes and services, statutory compliances and policies with the help of NGO/Franchise partners.
- Facilitating stakeholder formalisation in the sector by enabling opening bank accounts, PAN, ensuring statutory compliances, policies etc.
- Intervention with scrap shop for behavioural change and implementing the social inclusion projects.
C. Aggregation center/Facility management
- Work with the facility supervisor and workers to ensure on time delivery of consignments as per schedules.
- Implement SoPs for the aggregation, segregation, Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Check (QC) of plastic waste stream.
- Continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SoP)’s to optimize performance based on the Lean manufacturing principle.
- Increase throughput per day per worker and yield rates by bringing individual performance based models for workers.
- Increasing plastic sourcing and supply from stakeholders by ensuring ethical sourcing and fair price working closely with the sourcing associate.
- Facilitate during audits, assessments, client visits and visits by Headquarters team.
- To ensure site hygiene and cleanliness are maintained at all times as per required standards.
- Work closely with the Regional teams / other verticals to find new markets /solutions for the rest of the stream.
- Comply with requirements of deployment and sustaining sourcing charters from clients and certification bodies.
D. Reporting and documentation
- Maintaining various due-diligence and other required documentation at stakeholder level, managing, monitoring and reviewing it periodically.
- Ensuring timely, concise and accurate reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis on prescribed formats.
- Ensuring timely, concise and accurate CRM updates and also ensuring stakeholders are updating it regularly.
- Maintain case work and community work documents of stakeholders.
- Help managers and teams to capture information from the field as and when required.
E. General responsibilities
- Ensure professionalism at all times and demonstrate exemplary prioritisation of workload skills.
- Ensure that the organization policies, SOPs and protocols are being adhered to at all levels of the company.
- Ensure strict adherence to data confidentiality and security.
- Willingness to travel frequently, sometimes at short notice, including other places as per need of project or company.
- Work closely with team and Partners.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES AND COMPETENCIES
- Graduate with 3+ years of field work experience in informal sector.
- Experience of being part of any program/project management or field work would be an added advantage.
- Past Experience of working in the fields of Urban or Rural Development, Environment, Community Relations / Interventions / Engagement, Plastics Recycling, Waste Management will be helpful.
- Fluency in local language (Bengali) and moderate English working knowledge.
- Sound understanding of informal sector and vulnerable communities
COMPENSATION
The gross compensation budgeted for the position is ranging from INR 4.50 to 4.80 lakhs per annum (LPA) but negotiable further to commensurate with skills, qualifications, certifications, trainings, experience and salary history. The organization also offers performance bonus, medical Insurance and fixed travel allowance.
