JOB DESCRIPTION

A Cloud Specialist, particularly at Level 3 (L3), is generally expected to have advanced expertise in cloud computing technologies and services. He/She is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting cloud environments to ensure optimal performance and security.

The Specialist is responsible for the advanced management and optimization of cloud infrastructure and services. This role involves deep technical expertise in cloud architecture, deployment, and maintenance, ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of cloud environments. The specialist will work closely with other IT teams to support the company’s cloud strategy and operations.

KEY RESOPONSIBLITIES

CLOUD ARCHITECTURE & DESINGN

• Design and implement complex cloud solutions to meet business requirements.
• Develop and document architectural blueprints and detailed specifications.

DEPLOYMENT & CONFIGURATION

• Deploy and configure cloud services across various platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Automate deployment processes using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, or ARM templates.

MANAGEMENT & MONITORING

• Monitor cloud environments to ensure optimal performance and availability.
• Implement and manage cloud monitoring tools and solutions.
• Conduct regular performance tuning and capacity planning.

SCURITY & COMPLIANCE

• Implement and maintain cloud security best practices and policies.
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Conduct security assessments and audits.

TROUBLESHOOTING & SUPPORT

• Provide L3 support for cloud-related incidents and problems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues.
• Collaborate with L1 and L2 support teams for incident resolution.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

• Stay updated with the latest cloud technologies and trends.
• Propose and implement improvements to existing cloud infrastructure.
• Participate in disaster recovery planning and testing.

COLLABORATION & TRAINING

• Work closely with developers, DevOps, and other IT teams to integrate cloud solutions.
• Mentor and train junior cloud specialists and support staff.
• Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCES AND COMPETENCIES

EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.

EXPERIAENCE

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud computing, with at least 2 years in an intermediate (L3) role.
• Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

SKILL

• Strong knowledge of cloud architecture and services.
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python, PowerShell, etc.).
• Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

CERTIFICATIONS
Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect) are highly desirable.

ADDITIONAL INFORATION

• This position may require on-call support and the ability to work outside regular business hours.
• Travel may be required based on project needs.
